Some of my favourite childhood memories were made in the kitchen, especially when we were creating gourmet fudge. The house would fill with the smell of warm chocolate and butter, and I’d balance on a chair just to peek into the pot. Fudge wasn’t just a dessert in our home — it was part of our family rhythm. It showed up at holidays, family get-togethers, and those slow, quiet afternoons when we simply wanted something sweet to share, like our beloved handmade fudge.
Two of the most important people in those memories are my grandmothers, Josephine and Jean. Both of them had a way of making food feel like love — teaching me that the kitchen isn’t just where meals are made, but where stories are shared, traditions are passed down, and people feel cared for. Their influence is a big part of why these little moments around food have always meant so much to me.
Years later, I found myself reaching for that same handwritten recipe card — worn around the edges and smudged with chocolate fingerprints — making fudge in my own kitchen. It felt like carrying a little piece of those memories forward and honouring the women who shaped them.
At first, it was just for friends and family. Then they started asking for more. One batch turned into two. Two turned into holiday orders. And before I knew it, what began as a small family tradition started to grow into something bigger, leading to the creation of my Ontario fudge business.
Granny J’s Fudge was born from that love of sharing. Even the logo is a small homage to my grannies, Josephine and Jean, and the important role they played in my life and in the traditions that inspired this little business.
Every batch is still made the old-fashioned way — slow-cooked, hand-stirred, and poured with care. I believe food tastes better when it’s made with intention, patience, and heart.
When you order from us, you’re not just getting fudge. You’re getting a piece of a family tradition. A small moment of comfort. A little square of something made with love.
From my kitchen to yours — thank you for being part of our story.
